        Nato a Bioggio, figlio di Davide, morto a Bioggio. Avvocato, membro del Gran Consiglio ticinese dal 1909 al 1951, con alcune interruzioni. Fu pretore di Lugano (1913-1920), poi Segretariato dell’Unione Contadini Ticinesi (1926-1958) . Fondò con Gaetano Donini di Gentilino e Francesco Cattaneo di Faido il Partito agrario ticinese nel 1920, e il quotidiano Il Paese che diresse dal 1926 fino alla morte.
